Aly's poster presentation for the 2026 UROP Spring Research Symposium focused on the association between diabetes severity and changes in muscle power and fatigability before and after 8 weeks of training. She was interested in learning more about the biological demographics of our participant population and how differences in their diabetes diagnoses affected their performance. She found that, although all participants saw overall improvements in strength and fatigability of the quad muscle, those with more severe diabetes saw smaller improvements in fatigue and larger improvements in power than those with less severe diabetes. This year, she learned a great deal of clinical skills, confidence, and research norms that she is excited to build on in the future.
